Description

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) is amending Department of Justice regulations to allow federal firearms licensees (FFLs) transferring a firearm to another FFL to verify the transferee's license through ATF's publicly available "FFL eZ Check" system. This rule removes the previous requirement to obtain a certified copy of the transferee's license and eliminates the provision allowing reliance on a certified list from multi-licensed organizations. The rule aims to streamline the transfer verification process, enhancing efficiency and security in firearm transfers.
