Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Regional Procurement Office East (RPOE), Network Contracting Office 8 (NCO 8) intends to award a sole source contract pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 to University of Miami located at 1150 NW 14th St. Miami, FL 33125.

The Miami VA Medical Center requires Pathology Lab testing consisting of specialized and urgent referral testing services. This service shall be provided for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Miami VA Medical Center, located at 1201 NW 16th St. Miami FL 33125. Simplified acquisition procedures will be used, resulting in a firm fixed price Contract for a one-year period.

THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES; however, any responsible firm who believes they can meet the requirements should submit a capability statement, providing clear and convincing evidence supporting the assertion, and be appropriately licensed/certified. Information available to the CO indicates that the University of Miami Pathology/Research Administration is solely capable of providing for the requirement due to their close proximity to the Miami VA Medical Center that allows for timely processing and prevents morphological changes and loss of stability in testing samples.

Responses shall be in writing, sent via email, and must contain sufficient detail to allow the government representative to evaluate and determine if it can meet the requirement; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
