Description
Argonne National Laboratory seeks to acquire an X-ray transmission (XRT)-based sorting system for the automated classification of lithium-ion batteries, minerals, colored plastics, and metals. The system will serve as a flexible research platform enabling user programmability, algorithm development, and experimentation across a wide range of materials related to critical materials supply chains and recycling technologies. The system should provide open access to data and control interfaces to support external analysis and the creation of custom algorithms.
Subject: Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 6-S176-Q-00258-00 based on Argonne Statement of Work, "X-Ray Transmission Sorter" dated December 16, 2025.
EVALUATION IS BASED UPON BEST VALUE CRITERIA
UChicago Argonne, LLC, operator of Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne or Laboratory) under a prime contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), has the responsibility of obtaining the item(s) which are the subject of this Request for Proposal (RFP). You are invited to submit a firm fixed price proposal for meeting this requirement. Your attention is directed to the enclosed documents which constitute requirements for this RFP and should be fully complied with and completed as indicated.
