Description

The Department of State has submitted a proposed information collection to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for approval. This collection involves the Application To Determine Returning Resident Status, used to assess eligibility for noncitizens who temporarily departed the U.S. as lawful permanent residents and were unable to return within the validity period of their reentry document due to circumstances beyond their control. The Department is requesting public comments on this collection for 30 days. The form DS117 will be submitted electronically or in person at U.S. embassies or consulates abroad.
