Description

The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC), State Museum of Pennsylvania has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes human remains and funerary objects from various archaeological sites in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The PHMC has determined a cultural affiliation between these remains and associated objects and certain Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. Repatriation of these remains and objects may occur on or after June 4, 2026, upon written request to the PHMC.
