Description
The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC), State Museum of Pennsylvania has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects. They have determined a cultural affiliation between these remains and Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The inventory includes remains of at least 18 Native American individuals and associated funerary objects such as pottery, pipes, and personal adornments. Repatriation of these remains and objects may occur on or after June 4, 2026.
