Description
In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, Harvard University (PMAE) has completed an inventory of human remains and determined a cultural affiliation between the remains and various Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The inventory includes human remains representing at least 40 individuals from sites in Schuyler County, Illinois, collected during archaeological explorations in 1928. The notice details the tribes affiliated and provides information on repatriation procedures, which may occur on or after June 4, 2026.
