Description

Indiana University has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes remains of 52 Native American individuals and associated funerary objects recovered from archaeological sites. The university has determined a cultural affiliation between these remains and multiple Indian Tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations. Repatriation of the remains and objects may occur on or after June 4, 2026, with requests for repatriation to be sent to Indiana University.
