Carpenter - Products/Services Requested: - Construction and installation of 15.4 miles of fiber optic cable (aerial and underground) - Installation services include: strand, screw anchors, bust anchors, rock anchors, ground rods, lashing fiber, down guys, snowshoes, overlashing, fiber splicing (with prep, test, documentation), splice preparation/re-entry, placement of aerial and pole-mounted optical terminals, fiber distribution hubs, cable in tray, ADSS cable, bonds, pole placement (soil/rock), pole removal, underground trenching (including rock), directional boring (up to 4" PVC), and installation of buried cable marker posts/hardware - All labor and equipment for construction; fiber optic cable itself is supplied by the county - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) or vendors are named in the solicitation - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Multiple awards possible; work may be divided among contractors by segment or construction type - Task-order based assignments as pole licenses and permits are secured - Contractors must be able to perform both aerial and underground construction - Payment upon verified completion; invoices processed within 60 days - Bids due by June 5, 2026; all work must be completed by December 31, 2026 - Locations: - Work performed throughout Oswego County, NY - Contracting office: 46 E. Oswego County's Office of Strategic Initiatives Department is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to furnish all labor and equipment for constructing approximately 15.4 miles of fiber optic cable throughout Oswego County. There is potential to award multiple contractors for both aerial and underground construction in various segments. Awarded contractors will receive directives to construct areas on a task-order basis as pole licenses and permits are obtained. Bids are due by June 5, 2026, and the contract term is to be completed by December 31, 2026.
