The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is seeking a small business contractor to design, fabricate, and install custom hot-dipped galvanized steel service platforms for cooling towers at the U.S. National Poultry Research Center in Athens, Georgia. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Acquisition and Property Division (APD) - United States National Poultry Research Center, Athens, GA - Products and Services Requested: - Fabrication and installation of six (6) custom hot-dipped galvanized steel service platforms for cooling towers at Buildings 2 and 47 - Platforms must include ladders, handrails, safety gates, tie-off points, and metal bar grate decks and stairs - Two platforms require pivoting jib hoists (minimum 500 lbs capacity, BAC model S3E-1221-12R-2 or equivalent) - Platforms to be designed for both two-level and single-level access, with stairs or ship ladders, and appropriate structural supports (reinforced concrete piers or pipe with baseplates) - Demolition of existing structures, project management, and site cleanup - Unique or Notable Requirements: - All platforms must be hot-dip galvanized after fabrication for corrosion resistance - Strict adherence to biosecurity protocols during work at the research facility - Contractor must coordinate work to minimize disruption in occupied research buildings - Project is set aside for Total Small Business under NAICS 332999 (All Other Miscellaneous Fabricated Metal Product Manufacturing) - Performance and payment bonds required - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs for platforms; BAC (Baltimore Aircoil Company) is specified for pivoting jib hoists (model S3E-1221-12R-2 or equivalent) - Place of Performance: - U.S. National Poultry Research Center, Buildings 2 and 47, 950/934 College Station Road, Athens, GA 30605 - Period of Performance: - Work must be completed within 180 calendar days from notice to proceed - Estimated contract value: $250,000 - $600,000

Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12.  This announcement constitutes the only solicitation.  Quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. 

Solicitation number 1232SA26Q0544 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the fabrication and installation of cooling tower platforms.  Contractor will be required to design, fabricate, and install cooling tower service platforms.  All platforms will be hot dip galvanized after fabrication.  Platforms will have handrails, safety gates at stairs, tie points, and any other required safety equipment.   

This acquisition  is set-aside for small business concerns.  The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard Code is 332999, All Other Miscellaneous Fabricated metal Product Manufacturing.  The small business size standard is 750 Employees.  This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside.  All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency.
