The City of Newark, Delaware is seeking bids for major storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water infrastructure improvements on Academy Street. - Government Buyer: - City of Newark, Public Works and Water Resources Department, Purchasing Division - Products and Services Requested: - Storm drain improvements including reinforced concrete pipe, HDPE pipe, precast inlets, manholes, rip-rap apron, couplings, pre-cast headwall, flared end section, test pits, and related site work - Sanitary sewer improvements with gravity sewer pipe, pre-cast manholes, lateral cleanouts, connections, bypass pumping, and restoration - Water system improvements including watermain installation, valves, new water services, corporation and curb stops, and appurtenances - Road restoration: saw cutting, curb, sidewalk, ADA ramp installation, roadway paving, and striping - Miscellaneous excavation and disposal of buried concrete - Delmarva Gas infrastructure relocations and coordination - Furnishing and placing 4" or 6" Type B hot mix bituminous concrete base course for undercut of road subbase - Notable Requirements: - Compliance with City of Newark and State of Delaware technical standards for water, sewer, and stormwater systems - Coordination with Delmarva Gas for gas service termination and reinstatement - Project completion required within 240 calendar days from Notice to Proceed; $500/day liquidated damages for late completion - Bid, performance, and payment bonds required unless waived - Non-mandatory pre-bid meeting at project site - All questions to be submitted in bulk via email - No specific OEMs or proprietary products are named in the solicitation; standard construction materials and methods are specified.
