Sandy City 2026 Overlay Project: Roadway Milling, Paving, Concrete, and Related Improvements

Sandy City is seeking qualified contractors for the 2026 Overlay Project on 1300 East, covering a range of road and infrastructure improvements: - Government Buyer: - Sandy City Division of Purchasing - Project Scope: - Profile milling of the entire paved width of 1300 East between Sego Lily Drive and 10600 South - Full-width asphalt overlay (minimum 3-inch bituminous paving course, 1/2 inch gradation) - Replacement of concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, pedestrian ramps, drive approaches, and waterways - Restoration of all disturbed landscaping and irrigation systems to pre-existing or better condition - Lowering and raising of utilities to profile grade, including installation of concrete collars and coordination with utility agencies - Pavement striping using inlay tape, paint, and thermoplastic messages for crosswalks, stop bars, symbols, and lane markings - Comprehensive traffic control, including development and implementation of a traffic control plan, use of message boards, arrow boards, and maintenance of two-way traffic - Implementation of a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) with best management practices for storm drain protection, concrete washout, and vehicle tracking - Required materials testing for concrete and asphalt, including coring for thickness and density - Notable Requirements: - Strict adherence to Sandy City standards and specifications - Coordination with homeowners and businesses for access and restoration - Use of material transfer vehicles and grade control devices for paving - Mapping and modification of striping as needed - Work hours limited to 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, with Sunday work encouraged for milling and paving - All materials must be tested and approved before use - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; the solicitation is open to all qualified contractors able to meet the city's requirements.

Description

This solicitation is for the Sandy City 2026 Overlay Project on 1300 East between Sego Lily Drive to 10600 South. The project includes profile milling, concrete replacement, landscaping restoration, asphalt paving, utility lowering and raising, striping placement, traffic control, and storm water pollution prevention. The contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, insurance, bonding, and compliance with specifications and standards.
