Description

The Department intends to procure a Computerized 2-bed knitting machine and design system to prepare textile sensors and create textile structures as part of the Smartwear Revolution project. The machine will also be used to prepare fabric samples to assess the performance of regenerated cellulose fibre developed using hemp, other farming residues, and recycled fabrics. Shima Seiki is the sole manufacturer supplying new industrial flat knitting machinery in North America. This procurement is a direct award with no estimated monetary value.
