The University of Arkansas System (UAS) is seeking proposals from qualified insurance carriers to provide a comprehensive suite of employee benefits for approximately 21,000 benefits-eligible employees and additional participants across more than 20 campuses and affiliated entities. - Products and Services Requested: - Group term life insurance (basic and supplemental) - Accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance - Long-term disability (LTD) insurance - Short-term disability (STD) insurance - Supplemental health insurance (critical illness, accident protection, hospital indemnity) - Disability case management, return-to-work, and reasonable accommodation services - On-shored customer service, retiree billing, port/convert notices, claims filing support (phone, online, app), and recordkeeping - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs are mandated - Current providers: Standard Insurance Company (The Standard) for life and disability; United Healthcare (UHC) for supplemental health - Notable Requirements: - Proposals may be for all benefits or split into two bundles: (1) life and disability, (2) supplemental health - All products must match or exceed current coverage, accept existing participants without new waiting periods or evidence of insurability - On-shored customer service and integration with Workday HR system required - Vendors must support new entities joining UAS and provide strong administrative and participant support - Proposals must include options with and without a Premium Stabilization Reserve (PSR) for life and LTD - Pricing must be submitted on the official price sheet; all required forms and appendices must be included - Separate contracts may be required for affiliated entities - Places of Performance: - University of Arkansas System and affiliated entities, including Winthrop Rockefeller Institute, Phillips Community College, University of Arkansas Foundation, Razorback Foundation, and University of Arkansas Technology Development Foundation
