Description
The Competitive Grants for State Assessments (CGSA) program aims to enhance the quality of assessment instruments and systems used by States to measure academic achievement and growth of elementary and secondary school students. The FY 2026 competition includes two absolute priorities, three competitive preference priorities, and two invitational priorities focusing on innovative assessment design, meaningful learning opportunities, scoring improvements, student growth assessment, and comprehensive academic assessments. Eligible applicants are State governments, including SEAs of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and consortia of such SEAs. The program offers discretionary grants with a total funding amount of $16,556,000, expecting to award 6 grants with a minimum award of $4,000,000 each.
