Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is terminating the Collier County Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) Feasibility Study and withdrawing its Notice of Intent to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the study. The study aimed to investigate storm and flood risks to vulnerable populations, property, infrastructure, and ecosystems along Collier County coastlines and to develop alternatives to manage those risks and increase coastal resiliency. Due to insufficient federal funding to complete the required data collection and complex modeling, USACE has decided to terminate the study and the associated EIS preparation. The original Notice of Intent to prepare the EIS was published on July 9, 2024, and is withdrawn as of May 1, 2026.
