Description
This final rule announces routine inseason adjustments to management measures in commercial and recreational groundfish fisheries off the West Coast states. The adjustments include increasing commercial non-trawl canary rockfish trip limits and modifying Oregon recreational long-leader fishery bag limits to allow greater access to abundant groundfish stocks while protecting overfished stocks. The action aims to help achieve the full attainment of the groundfish annual catch limit, supporting significant economic benefits for commercial landings and recreational angler trips. The rule is effective May 1, 2026, and is issued by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration under the Department of Commerce.
