The Ministry of Transportation and Transit of the Government of British Columbia is seeking contractors for the expansion and upgrade of rest areas and chain-on/chain-off facilities along Highway 37 and Highway 37A. - Government Buyer: - Ministry of Transportation and Transit, Government of British Columbia - Project Scope: - Expansion and upgrades at Bell 1 Rest Area, Meziadin Northbound and Southbound Chain On & Chain Offs, and Windy Hill Rest Area - Construction activities include grading, drainage, pavement cutting and removal, installation of geosynthetics, granular materials, culverts, riprap, signage, gates, seeding, and precast concrete barriers - Installation of amenities such as wheelchair accessible washrooms and garbage receptacles - Products and Quantities: - Wheelchair accessible washrooms (2 units) - Garbage receptacles (3 units) - Rest area and avalanche gates (1 each) - Multiple types of new signage (23 total) - Various precast concrete barriers (totaling 58 units across types) - 900 mm diameter corrugated steel pipe (59 units) - Riprap (74 units) - Non-woven geotextile and geogrid (6,300 units each) - Services Requested: - Mobilization, quality management, traffic management, clearing, organic stripping, excavation (on-site and off-site), borrow material, and seeding - Notable Requirements: - Lump sum and provisional sum items for mobilization, quality management, site modifications, and diesel fuel price adjustments - No specific OEMs, proprietary products, or part numbers are specified in the solicitation
