Description
DISCLAIMER:This Sources Sought is issued solely for market research and information¿gathering purposes in accordance with FAR Part 10. This notice does not constitute a solicitation, request for quote, request for proposal, or a commitment by the Government to issue a future solicitation. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with responding to this notice. Information received will be used to determine whether any additional sources exist that can meet all of the Government¿s minimum requirements for this procurement.DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTThe Bureau of Reclamation, Technical Service Center (TSC), is conducting market research to identify any responsible sources¿manufacturer or authorized distributor¿capable of providing a large¿format, commercial¿grade stereolithography (SLA) 3D printer that meets all of the Government¿s minimum essential technical requirements listed below. This effort is to determine whether alternatives exist to the 3D Systems SLA825 Dual¿Laser SLA Printer, which preliminary market research indicates may be the only product capable of meeting the Government¿s needs. The required system must support the Hydraulics Laboratory¿s production of large, high¿precision components for physical hydraulic modeling. These components must be manufactured rapidly, consistently, and at dimensions and tolerances that directly affect engineering analysis, project schedules, and operational performance.MINIMUM REQUIRED SPECIFICATIONSThe Government seeks information from firms capable of providing an SLA printer that meets ALL of the following characteristics:1. Extra¿Large Build Volume- Minimum build area of approximately 32.7¿ × 32.7¿ × 21.6¿ (or equivalent) enabling the fabrication of large hydraulic model components in a single print. This capability is essential to eliminate multi¿piece segmentation, part reassembly, and the associated risks of dimensional inaccuracy, leaks, warping, or structural weakness.2. Dual¿Laser SLA Print Architecture- System must employ at least two independent lasers to achieve high¿throughput print speeds suitable for large¿format parts. This feature is required to reduce long print durations that impede engineering test cycles and delay project schedules.3. Commercial¿Grade Dimensional Accuracy and Reliability- Printer must consistently produce high¿precision SLA components appropriate for physical hydraulic model testing where tolerances directly affect flow dynamics and experimental validity.4. Heavy¿Duty, High¿Utilization Laboratory Operation- System must be suitable for weekly or near¿continuous use in a production¿oriented environment.5. Integrated Support Ecosystem- Availability of compatible resins, wash/cure systems, maintenance services, and OEM technical support.REQUEST FOR CAPABILITY STATEMENTInterested firms¿manufacturers or authorized distributors¿who believe they can meet all of these minimum specifications are invited to submit a capability statement describing:¿ Company name, UEI, business size, and point of contact.¿ Manufacturer authorization (if applicable).¿ Detailed specifications for the proposed product showing how every minimum requirement above is met.¿ Product literature, technical sheets, or data supporting compliance.¿ Past performance providing similar large¿format SLA systems, if available.¿ Estimated delivery lead times.Responses that only partially meet the minimum requirements will not be considered capable of fulfilling the Government¿s need.PURPOSE OF THIS NOTICEThe purpose of this Sources Sought is to determine whether any authorized sources or alternative products exist that can meet the Government¿s complete requirements. If no additional capable sources are identified, the Government may proceed with a brand¿name procurement based on documented market research demonstrating that only one source can satisfy mission¿essential needs. Please send all questions and inquiries to: Aaron Valdez, aaron_valdez@ios.doi.gov
