Description

The solicitation is for the rearing of approximately 200,000 to 400,000 sockeye salmon fry annually at Tatsamenie Lake, British Columbia, starting in Spring 2026. The contractor will receive all transported fry and conduct rearing as directed by the Transboundary Technical Committee and Enhancement Sub-committee. The work includes monitoring and prevention of risks such as disease and predation, and conducting a smolt mark recapture enumeration project from mid-May to early September to enumerate sockeye salmon smolt outmigration. The contract duration is 11 months starting May 20, 2026, with options to extend annually through 2029 at the discretion of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO).
