USDA Solicits Nominations for Secure Rural Schools Resource Advisory Committees

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking nominations for membership on 84 Secure Rural Schools Resource Advisory Committees (RACs). - Committees will advise the Secretary of Agriculture on rural schools and national forest issues - No products or services are being procured; this is a request for committee nominations - USDA is seeking balanced representation from: - Labor and employment groups - Recreation and tourism organizations - Environmental and conservation groups - Elected officials and other local interests - Committees will operate for two years unless renewed - Governed by the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) - No OEMs, vendors, or product/service line items are involved

Description

The United States Department of Agriculture intends to establish 84 Secure Rural Schools Resource Advisory Committees (RACs) to advise the Secretary of Agriculture on proposed recommendations and other matters related to rural schools. These committees will be governed by the Federal Advisory Committee Act and have a duration of two years unless renewed. The notice solicits nominations for membership on these committees, which will be balanced to represent various interest areas including labor, recreation, environmental organizations, elected officials, and others.
