Description

The Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) grant program provides federal funds to states, U.S. territories, federally recognized tribal governments, and local governments to reduce or eliminate the risk of repetitive flood damage to buildings and structures insured under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) in participating communities. The program funds various flood mitigation activities aimed at reducing flood risk to policyholders and minimizing the NFIP's financial exposure. Eligible applicants include federally recognized Native American tribal governments, city or township governments, state governments, and county governments. Applications are submitted through FEMA Grants Outcomes (GO).
