Description
This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This is not a solicitation or request for offers. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. USDA Forest Service, Forest Products Laboratory intends to award a sole source award to Airgas USA, LLC to deliver a liquid nitrogen that is essential to maintain cryogenic stability for CFMR’s sensitive laboratory instruments, which maintains cryogenically preserved fungal cultures. Without regular nitrogen supply, fungal cultures would die, causing the loss of over $2,500,000 in fungal cultures (government property). This purchase will be made utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with: Federal Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement by May 3rd, 2026 at 0800 (ET). Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed award upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No reimbursement for any cost connected with providing capability information will be provided.
