The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land and Water, Southcentral Regional Land Office, has received a request from the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities for a material sale contract to extract riprap and gravel from a 5-acre area near milepost 79 on the Denali Highway. The project involves designation of this location for material extraction and sale of 100,000 cubic yards of material from Summer 2026 through Winter 2030. The site covers approximately 159 acres within Section 11, Township 21 South, Range 1 East, Fairbanks Meridian, Alaska. The material will be used primarily for road maintenance and improvement of the Denali Highway.
