The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), in partnership with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Federal Aid in Sport Fish Restoration Program, is proposing to restore the Funter Bay Cannery Float in Funter Bay, Alaska. The project involves removing and disposing of existing timber and steel piles, relocating a 10’ x 125’ float, refurbishing the approach and gangway, replacing an existing float with a new timber float, and removing a seaplane float. Engineering development activities are expected to conclude in late fall 2026, with construction projected to begin in 2027. Comments on the proposed project are requested by May 29, 2026.
