The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) anticipates issuance of a solicitation for the award of a firm-fixed price construction contract for a project entitled Emergency Replace Education Chair Lift, at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI Oxford), located in Oxford, WI.
FCI Oxford is a federally owned facility located at County Road & Elk Avenue, Oxford, WI 53952,. The project consists of the following:
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, FCI Oxford, intends to procure services for the demolition and replacement of the existing Education chair lift, which is no longer operable and has exceeded its service life. Work includes disconnecting and protecting existing electrical service, removing the current lift assembly, and furnishing and installing a new ADA‑compliant inclined platform lift, Basis of Design: Garaventa GSL Artira or approved equal.
The new lift system will include a complete platform assembly, drive and guide‑rail components, obstruction‑sensing devices, passenger restraining arms, retractable boarding ramps, kick plates, safety lighting, hand grips, low‑voltage controls, emergency stop features, and keyless operation. The contractor will also provide a new drive cabinet, integrated disconnect, battery backup system, call stations at each landing, and all associated programming, testing, and adjustments.
All work must comply with ASME A18.1, ADA‑ABA requirements, NFPA, NEC, and all applicable Federal, State, and local codes. Installation shall be performed by manufacturer‑certified technicians, and the contractor shall provide all required submittals, safety plans, quality control documentation, testing, and closeout materials.
