Description
This is a pre-solicitation synopsis for a competitive solicitation that GPO intends to post on SAM.gov on or about May 11, 2026. The scope of work includes:
The concrete sidewalk and the vault structure beneath the G Street Sidewalk are showing signs of moderate to severe deterioration of the concrete and the encased structural framing. Over time and a failure of the waterproofing membrane, salt water, and other liquids constantly migrate into the reinforced slab and cause deterioration substantial damages.
The contractor shall provide the labor, material, equipment, and supervision to demolish and install the sidewalk slab and to repair and renovate the vaults beams, concrete slab, waterproofing membrane, and columns and other related structures to eliminate the water migration into the basement. All the work shall be in accordance with the design drawings and specifications prepared and submitted along with this statement of work. The contractor is required to obtain permits, traffic control plans, safety, and security approval prior to construction starting.
The contractor shall complete the following tasks as part of the project at the GPO G Street Sidewalk Repair:
Pre-Construction Tasks
Obtain all required permits and approvals. Submit project schedule, safety plan, and traffic control plan. Coordinate with GPO project management and stakeholders. Conduct pre-construction meetings and site walkthrough.
Site Preparation & Demolition
Install temporary barriers, signage, and traffic control measures. Set up designated staging and material storage areas. Perform selective demolition of existing structures as required. Ensure safe removal and disposal of construction debris.
Material Delivery & Logistics
Coordinate material deliveries in compliance with schedule. Inspect and verify all materials upon arrival. Store materials in designated secure areas.
Construction & Installation
Perform site grading and preparation, if applicable. Install structural components, framing, and support systems. Complete mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) installations. Install architectural finishes, including flooring, ceilings, and walls. Implement weatherproofing and insulation systems as required. Conduct equipment and systems testing to ensure functionality.
Safety & Compliance
Maintain compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. Implement and monitor safety protocols for workers and pedestrians. Address any environmental concerns, including hazardous material handling.
Quality Control & Inspections
Conduct periodic quality control checks. Submit required inspection and testing reports. Address any deficiencies noted in inspections.
Project Closeout
Complete all final construction activities and finishing work. Conduct a final walkthrough with the GPO project team. Prepare and submit as-built drawings and O&M manuals. Resolve punch list items and obtain final acceptance. Restore site and remove temporary facilities. Submit final project documentation, including warranties and certifications
Period of Performace is eighteen (18) months from Notice to Proceed.
A site visit will be scheduled and listed in the solicitation.
