Description

The State Personnel Development Grants (SPDG) program aims to assist State educational agencies (SEAs) in reforming and improving their systems for personnel preparation and professional development in early intervention, educational, and transition services to improve results for children with disabilities. The U.S. Department of Education will award competitive grants to SEAs to carry out activities described in the State plan under section 653 of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The program focuses on expanding career pathways and workforce readiness, including supporting Registered Apprenticeships and creating targeted pathways for educational personnel to become certified educators while employed.
