Description

NOAA/NMFS is soliciting competitive proposals for grants and cooperative agreements to support stewardship of living marine resources and sustainable management of U.S. commercial longline fisheries. Projects will ensure data pipelines inform sustainable management of fisheries interacting with endangered species in the Pacific, aiming to prevent fishery closures due to interaction limits. The program focuses on benefiting endangered marine turtles linked to the Pacific Islands Region and addressing NOAA's Endangered Species Act recovery obligations. Priority areas include conservation efforts in the Coral Triangle, Japan, and international waters to build research and protection capacity.
