Description

The National Park Service (NPS) intends to prepare a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) to update the analysis in the Yellowstone National Park Bison Management Plan Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), 2024. This update is necessary because seasonal bison migration out of the park has become less predictable in timing and duration, affecting the reliability of management assumptions from the 2024 analysis. The SEIS will develop new alternatives and provide additional analysis, including consideration of issues raised in recent lawsuits. Public comments are invited to inform the SEIS development.
