The Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad Incorporated (DGVR) petitioned the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) for an extension of relief from certain regulations concerning stenciling and safety glazing of rail cars. The petition requests to extend a special approval for 37 pieces of equipment that are more than 50 years old and to add a snowplow to the relief. DGVR also seeks to expand the operating territory and adopt specific mechanical standards for operations of cars with obsolete brake valves.
