The City of Carson is seeking qualified contractors to provide labor services for the demolition and installation of new flooring at the Carson Community Center. - Government Buyer: - City of Carson, Purchasing Division - OEMs and Vendors: - Shaw Industries Group, Inc. (manufacturer of Solitude LVT and Divvy Tile Ecoworx) - Products/Services Requested: - Demolition and removal of existing flooring (LVT, carpet tile, adhesives, wall base, transition strips) - Substrate preparation, including moisture and alkalinity testing (ASTM F2170), crack repair (CJR400), and application of moisture mitigation systems (MCS310, QBC300, VL201) - Installation of owner-furnished materials: - Solitude LVT 6" x 48" (Part #48516/Fawn), approx. 11,200 SF plus 10% attic stock - Divvy Tile Ecoworx 24" x 24" (Part #12557/Traverse), approx. 26.67 SY plus 10% attic stock - 4.5" thermoplastic rubber wall base, approx. 720 LF - Pressure sensitive adhesives (Part #340VS) - Additional installation materials: crack/joint repair, moisture resistant skim coat (MRS101), cementitious self-leveling (VL201), quick drying base coat (QBC300) - Project management, supervision, quality control, final cleaning, debris removal, and attic stock packaging - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Contractors must hold California Contractor’s License C-15 (Flooring) and C-54 (Tile) - Minimum 5 years of municipal flooring experience required - Compliance with prevailing wage, DIR registration, and Project Labor Agreement with local building trades - Strict adherence to manufacturer specifications and ASTM standards for all installation and testing - All materials are owner-furnished; contractor provides labor, tools, and equipment - Work may require after-hours and holiday scheduling; liquidated damages for delays - Electronic bid submission via PlanetBids only - Place of Performance: - Carson Community Center, 801 E. Description

The City of Carson is soliciting sealed bids from qualified and licensed contractors to provide labor, supervision, tools, equipment, and all incidentals necessary to complete flooring demolition and installation and associated substrate preparation services at the Carson Community Center located at 801 E. Carson St., Carson, CA. The City will furnish all flooring materials and associated products including LVT, carpet tile, wall base, moisture mitigation systems, self-leveling underlayment, and adhesives. This solicitation is strictly for labor services including demolition and installation, with the contractor responsible for proper handling, preparation, and installation of all owner-furnished materials in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
