Description Requirement: Radioligand binding assays are a core experimental technique used within the Medicinal Chemistry Section to characterize ligand affinity and pharmacological properties at central nervous system targets. These assays rely on rapid filtration of assay plates to separate bound from free radioligand prior to scintillation counting.
The Unifilter 96-well Harvester SS system is designed specifically for high-throughput filtration of 96-well plates used in radioligand binding assays. This instrument allows rapid and consistent harvesting of assay plates onto filter plates, which is essential for maintaining assay integrity and reproducibility when working with radiolabeled compounds.
The ability to process multiple plates efficiently is critical for evaluating new compounds synthesized within the Medicinal Chemistry Section and for supporting ongoing structure–activity relationship studies. Acquisition of this system will ensure reliable and efficient processing of radioligand binding assays and support ongoing pharmacological characterization of novel compounds developed within the laboratory.
