Oswego County is seeking qualified contractors to construct approximately 15 miles of aerial and underground fiber optic cabling in the Mexico Service Area and throughout Oswego County, NY. - Government Buyer: - Oswego County, Office of Strategic Initiatives, Purchasing Department - Products and Services Requested: - Construction and installation of approximately 15 miles of fiber optic cable (aerial and underground) - Installation tasks include: strand, screw anchors, bust anchors, rock anchors, ground rods, lashing/overlashing fiber, down guys, snowshoes (maintenance loops), fiber splicing (1-12 fibers and >12 fibers), splice preparation/re-entry, placement of aerial and pole-mounted optical terminals, fiber distribution hubs, cable in trays, ADSS cable, bonding, pole placement (soil and rock), pole removal, underground trenching (including rock), directional boring (up to 4 PVC), and installation of buried cable marker posts/hardware - Contractors must provide all labor, equipment, and materials (except fiber optic cable and central office termination equipment, which are provided by the county) - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Work is assigned on a task-order basis as permits and pole licenses are secured - Multiple contractors may be awarded different segments or types of construction - Compliance with prevailing wage laws and bonding requirements is mandatory - Contractors must be capable of both aerial and underground fiber construction, including splicing and documentation - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the solicitation - Contract term runs from award through the end of 2026
