The Department of the Interior, through the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) and Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), is seeking small business input for a Sand, Sediment, and Critical Mineral Investigation in Federal Waters Offshore Louisiana (Ship Shoal). - Government Buyer: - Department of the Interior (DOI) - Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), Gulf of America Region, Office of Resource Evaluation, Marine Minerals Unit - Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) - No specific OEMs or commercial vendors are named; the focus is on service capabilities. - Products/Services Requested: - Geophysical survey data acquisition (up to 483 line miles) - Geological sampling: 30 vibracores (~30 ft depth) and 10 deep cores (~50 ft depth) - Laboratory analysis: grain size (approx. 4 samples/core), critical mineral analysis (approx. 2 samples/core), Field Miniature Vane Shear Test (50), Sieve Analysis (60), Laser Particle Size Analysis (60), Visual Percent Shell (60), Carbonate Content (15) - Investigation planning, data processing, core logging, and comprehensive reporting - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Expertise in offshore geophysical surveys, geological sampling, and laboratory analysis - Ability to deliver investigation plans, GIS shape files, processed geophysical data, core logs, and final technical reports - Compliance with ASTM standards for core logging - Support for the National Offshore Sand and Critical Minerals Inventories - Place of Performance: - Federal Waters Offshore Louisiana (Ship Shoal) - This is a Request for Information (RFI) for market research; no proposals or pricing are being solicited at this stage.

SPECIAL NOTICE - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)/ SOURCES SOUGHTThe Department of the Interior (DOI), Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) on behalf of the Bureau of Energy Management (BOEM) is issuing this request for information (RFI)/Sources Sought to:1. Identify interested small businesses capable of performing geophysical surveys, geological sampling, and laboratory analysis work in support of BOEM¿s mission.2. Collect industry feedback on the Draft Statement of Work (SOW) for the Sand, Sediment, and Critical Mineral Investigation in Federal Waters Offshore Louisiana (Ship Shoal).This RFI is for market research only and is not a solicitation for proposals. No contract will be awarded from this announcement. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this notice.
