Description

The Department of Buildings and General Services of Vermont is seeking proposals to establish a contract with one company to operate a statewide sign language interpreter referral service. The service will provide interpreter referral services for Vermonters who are deaf, deafblind, or hard of hearing, as well as for businesses, educational programs, medical providers, State employees, and the general public. The contract period is two years with an option to renew for up to three additional twelve-month periods, starting approximately September 15, 2026. The service is expected to handle about 2,200 requests per year, providing approximately 7,600 hours of interpreter time annually, and must be available at least 40 hours per week during State business hours.
