The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is releasing an update to the April 16, 2024, interim guidance on the destruction and disposal of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and materials containing PFAS for public comment. This updated guidance builds on information about technologies that may be feasible and appropriate for PFAS destruction or disposal. It also identifies key data gaps and uncertainties that must be resolved before more definitive recommendations can be issued. Comments on the guidance must be received by June 29, 2026.
