Description
The PRO Housing program provides competitive awards to State, County, City or township governments, Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), and Multi-jurisdictional Entities that have made progress in improving inclusionary zoning practices, land use policies, and housing infrastructure to increase affordable housing supply. The program aims to reduce legal and procedural barriers that limit housing stock, thereby lowering housing costs and increasing affordability. HUD is allocating $50 million in grants to jurisdictions that have advanced these goals, with awards ranging from $5 million to $10 million. Eligible applicants include government entities and MPOs, with encouragement for overlapping applicants to partner.
