Description
The Department of Defense HIV/AIDS Prevention Program (DHAPP), through the PEPFAR program, aims to save lives, prevent HIV infections, and accelerate progress toward HIV/AIDS epidemic control. The program supports the development of interventions and programs in military health systems globally, working with foreign militaries to assess needs and strengthen capacity for prevention, care, and treatment of HIV/AIDS. DHAPP emphasizes alignment with national strategies, expansion of testing and treatment, reduction of mother-to-child transmission, stigma reduction, and sustainability through local partner engagement.
