Description
The Revolutionizing Engineering Departments (RED) program aims to build upon previous engineering education research to improve undergraduate engineering education. It focuses on organizational and cultural change within engineering departments, involving students, faculty, staff, and industry to rethink engineering programs. The program supports four tracks: RED Planning, RED Adaptation and Implementation, RED Innovation, and RED Innovation Partnerships, encouraging two- and four-year institutions to participate. Projects should focus on disciplinary courses and programs and are expected to be institutionalized by the end of the funding period. The program addresses areas of national interest such as advanced manufacturing, AI, biotechnology, sustainability, and quantum engineering.
