This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) supports state, local, and tribal governments, law enforcement agencies, correctional facilities, probation and parole departments, and sheriff’s departments in developing, implementing, or expanding de-escalation and crisis response training programs. The programs aim to improve law enforcement responses and outcomes for individuals in crisis with behavioral health conditions, intellectual and developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and/or traumatic brain injuries. The training equips officers with tactical skills, strategies, and technology to effectively de-escalate crisis situations, enhance safety, and protect officer wellbeing.
