Description

The Social Psychology Program at NSF supports theoretically focused empirical investigations that advance fundamental social psychological explanations of human behavior, attitudes, and experience. The program invites research and infrastructure proposals that explore how human behavior is influenced by social forces and underlying processes such as thought, motivation, emotion, neural, and physiological factors. Proposals should have strong potential for groundbreaking discoveries and may include new theories or methods. The program encourages open science practices and expects data and methods to be shared openly. Various types of proposals are accepted, including regular research, CAREER, RUI, RAPID, EAGER, and small conference proposals, but not doctoral dissertation improvement or mid-career advancement awards.
