Description
The BioWatch Program is a federally managed, locally operated early warning system designed to detect the release of select aerosolized biological agents to protect public health in select U.S. cities. It operates 24/7/365 to detect and respond to bioterrorist events in more than 30 metropolitan areas. The program aims to enhance national preparedness by providing early warning capabilities for biological threats. Eligible applicants include special district governments, county governments, city or township governments, and other entities such as law enforcement and emergency management agencies within specified jurisdictions.
