Description

The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) provides temporary housing and care for unaccompanied alien children under 18 years old who lack legal permission to be in the U.S. and do not have a parent or legal guardian in the U.S. ORR runs the Home Study and Post-Release Services Program to ensure children are placed in safe and appropriate homes by conducting home studies before placement. After placement, ORR offers ongoing support to help children and their sponsors adjust, stay safe and healthy, and navigate the immigration court process. The program aims to ensure children thrive while their immigration cases proceed.
