Description

The U.S. Department of State’s Embassy Islamabad announces an open competition to implement a program to build sustainable pathways to employment in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The project aims to protect U.S. commercial interests in Pakistan, counter terrorist recruitment, and strengthen the U.S.-Pakistan partnership by developing employment skills for public school and madrassah graduates aligned with U.S. industry needs. Successful proposals will assess graduate skill gaps and employer needs, develop and deliver employment training with local vocational-technical institutions, facilitate placement of graduates into internships and jobs, and advocate for scaling successful courses with government support. The program targets regions with high poverty, terrorist incidents, weak public schools, and critical mineral deposits where American mining companies seek investment.
