Description

The NIH Common Fund, along with other NIH Institutes and Centers, plans to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Precision Medicine with Artificial Intelligence - Integrating Imaging with Multimodal Data (PRIMED-AI) program. This program aims to develop innovative, reliable, and cost-effective AI-based tools that integrate clinical imaging with other health data to enhance personalized medicine for patients with chronic and other health conditions. The Validation Center initiative will act as an independent hub for third-party verification, validation, and uncertainty quantification of AI-enabled, image-based, multimodal Clinical Decision Support tools by retesting and harmonizing PRIMED-AI deliverables to characterize their performance comprehensively. Applications are not currently being solicited; this notice allows potential applicants time to develop collaborations and projects. The NOFO will use the U54 activity code and encourages investigators with expertise in validation of CDS tools and AI prediction confidence to consider applying.
