Description
The Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program invests in colleges and universities to support student success and increase the number of STEM degrees awarded to underrepresented groups. It supports various types of alliances and projects aimed at diversifying the STEM workforce, including development grants, bridge programs, research alliances, and graduate degree support. The program targets populations underrepresented in STEM such as Blacks, African-Americans, Hispanic and Latino Americans, American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. Funding supports comprehensive, evidence-based strategies to graduate competitive STEM students who pursue further studies or careers in STEM fields.
