The COBRE-E/S Notice of Funding Opportunity supports the expansion and sustainability of biomedical research centers in IDeA-eligible institutions, focusing on broad scientific areas of strategic importance. COBRE-E aims to expand research capacity by growing faculty and supporting projects and core facilities, while COBRE-S aims to sustain infrastructure and consolidate research cores. Applicants must propose a sustainability plan during the COBRE-E Phase for implementation in the COBRE-S Phase.
