Description

The Maximizing Investigators' Research Award (MIRA) provides support for individual investigators for research within the scientific mission of NIGMS via a single grant. The award aims to increase funding stability, flexibility for new research directions, and distribute funding more widely among talented investigators. It also seeks to reduce time spent on grant applications and administrative burdens, allowing more focus on research and mentoring. Applications are invited from eligible NIGMS-funded investigators and new investigators aligned with NIGMS' mission, excluding current Early-Stage Investigators who should apply through a different NOFO.
