Description

The NSF CISE Directorate supports research and education projects that develop new knowledge in all aspects of computing, communications, and information science and engineering through various Future Computing Research programs. These programs include Algorithmic Foundations, Communications and Information Foundations, Computer Systems Research, Computing Education Research, Cyber-Physical System Foundations and Connected Communities, Foundations of Emerging Technologies, Human-Centered Computing, Information Integration and Informatics, Networking Technology and Systems, Robust Intelligence, and Software and Hardware Foundations. The program anticipates awards with budgets up to $1,000,000 and durations up to 4 years, with typical projects ranging from $150,000 to $250,000 per year. Projects are discouraged from exceeding $300,000 in any single year, and the estimated program budget is $280,000,000 with expected 600 awards.
